Buckner, was a Navy officer who ultimately rose to the rank of Vice-Admiral of the Red (1808) (4th highest in the RN). He notably appears in Robert Louis Stevenson's Memoir of Feeming Jenkin and was the Admiralty's man on the scene during the 1797 Mutiny at the Nore.
