Set in a gold coloured frame, the reverse with glazed over aperture to reveal brown silk

Downman was a Welsh portrait and subject painter. Whilst he painted a fewt small oil portraits at the beginning of his career he concentrated primarily on painting portraits in chalk and pastel. His portraits on ivory are relatively scarce
