He wears mole coloured coat, pink waistcoat and white stock and powdered bag wig

Born in Dublin Hone left for London in 1742, shortly before this portrait was taken, where he succeeded in establishing a solid reputation as a portrait and enamel painter. He was one of the founders of the Royal Academy
