REF

Set in the original gold frame, the reverse with monogram GR on blue glass with plaited hair surround
Provenance: Sotheby's Geneva, 7 May, 1982, lot 253
Nash, whose work resembles Samuel Shelley, was working in Bombay, India from May 1801 until February 1810 . The extremely vivid colour of the sky background suggests that this was taken in India where the climate would have been far kinder than that found in the United Kingdom.
