Major General John A Vesey of the 52nd Regiment, a close friend and Equerry to H.R.H. Edward, Duke of Kent.

John married Margaret Reynett in 1795. They had one son - the Duke of Kent's Godson - and five daughters. When John died of malaria in Sicily, in 1812, whilst in waiting on the Duke on a shooting trip, the Duke arranged for his family to live at the Pavilions in Hampton Court Palace.
