Lt. Alexander Munro in scarlet uniform

A Mr. Munro is recorded in Engleheart's fee book as having had his miniature taken in 1782, 1791 and 1805. A Mrs. Munro, presumably his wife, had her portrait painted by Engleheart in 1786.

Alexander Munro is in the 1782 Army List as Alexander Munro , Lieutenant in the 12th Regiment of Foot from 17 June 1780. In 1782 the 12th Foot were defending Gibraltar during the famous siege. The uniform is definitely circa 1782.
